Hertford Rotary Club

We are a small, friendly club with a membership of around 15 men and women, The club has two levels of membership:

Full membership

Our members meet each Monday at The Farmers Boy in Brickenden. Meetings are held over a sociable lunch and have various features including regular guest speakers. From time to time we also arrange members' day trips out. Recent trips have included various theatre visits, the Gunpowder Mills, and the Tower of London.

'Friends of Hertford Rotary'

Our 'Friends' are volunteers who want to be involved in their local community but cannot give the commitment to an organisation. They support the team and can assist in any fundraising activities they would like. They are also welcome to suggest new fund-raising ideas and can join the occasional meeting.

If either of these types of volunteering appeal to you, please get in touch

Fundraising activities

Our events enable us to have fun and give time, or raise money for charitable causes. Events have included anything from fireworks displays (with neighbouring clubs), selling mulled wine at Hertford's Christmas Gala, organising the Hertford Fun Day, litter picking, raffles and more.

Supporting our communities

Local support

We respond to requests for support from our local community. These include vocational and youth requests among others. Local charities we have helped include, Isabel Hospice, Chips, Mudlarks, Keech Cottage and local food banks. Support is not always of the financial kind, for example we help with transportation for those attending a monthly disability club.

National and international support

Through the Rotary International's own charity, The Rotary Foundation, we are able to support many worthy causes and be reactive to global events. Some of the better known fundraisers have included: Polio, Shelter boxes, Water Aid and Mercy Ships.
